Abby, Henry

            Henry Abby of the village of Little Rock was born in Clinton Hollow, Duchess County, New York, August 29, 1813. He came to Illinois in 1840 and cast his lot among the people of Little Rock. He owns a farm across the county line in Kane County and has a wagon shop in Little Rock. He has held the office of Commissioner of Highways, Justice of the Peace, and is commissioned as a Notary Public, which office he has held for many years. He is in his 66th year but his age has not affected him perceptively.

 

Abby, Mary P. (Fowler)

            Mary (Fowler) Abby, wife of Henry Abby, was born in Duchess County, New York, March 25 1806. Her present age is 78.

 

Arnold, Mary

            Mary Arnold, widow, was born in Canada, October 26, 1812. She resides in Plano, and is 66 years of age.

 

Baie, Andrew

            Andrew Baie, who resides in Plano, was born in Germany, May 15, 1812. He is presently 67 years of age.

 

Baie, Augusta (Gade)

            Augusta Baie, wife of Andrew Baie, was born in Germany, April 4, 1813. She is 66 years of age.

 

Bark, Luana

Luana Bark, widow, was born in Rensalear County, New York, March 5, 1800. She resides on section 25, and is 79 years of age.

 

Beck, Mary Ann (Walrath)

            Mary Ann Beck, widow, was born in Montgomery County, New York, February 16, 1814. She resides in Plano, and is presently 65 years of age.

 

Bennett, Darius [Dares] Charles

            Darius Charles Bennett was born in Chemung County, New York, January 22, 1803. He came to Illinois in 1846 and took up a claim of about 175 acres on section 12, which he now resides on. A few years ago, Mr. Bennett was stricken with paralysis of his lower limbs, and remains in a helpless condition. With this exception he has a strong and vigorous constitution.

 

Berry, Deborah

            Deborah Berry, widow of Henry, was born in Saratoga County, New York December 2, 1810. She resides in Plano, and is 69 years of age.

 

Brady, Dorinda Fowler

            Dorinda (Fowler) Brady, first wife of Dr. James T. H. Brady was born in Hyde, Park, Duchess County New York, February 28, 1801. She is presently 78 year of age.

 

Brady, Anna (Fowler)

            Anna (Fowler) Brady, wife of Jesse Brady was born in Duchess County, New York, April 26, 1813. She is 66 years of age.

 

Brady, Dr. James T. H.

            James T. H. Brady was born in South, Salem, West Chester County, New York, November 10, 1812. He is an early settler in the village of Little Rock where he has resided ever since. He is a physician of the Physio Medical School and an old practitioner. For many years he was engaged in the mercantile trade in Little Rock, before and after Plano existed. He has been elected County Supervisor several times and held several other town offices. He owns a good farm in Big Rock Township, Kane County, and retains a good practice in his profession. His present age is 66. He enjoys good health and his physical and mental abilities are as strong and vigorous as ever.

 

Brown, Gurdon

            Gurdon Brown was born in New London, Connecticut, May 20, 1809. He came to Illinois in 1850. He is 70 years of age.

 

Burgess, Olive Paulina (Clark)

            Olive Paulina Burgess, wife of Pliny A. Burgess was born in Orwell, Rutland County, Vermont, November 25, 1810. She is presently 69 years old.

 

Burgess, P. A.

            Pliny Anthony Burgess, a resident of Plano, was born in Orwell, Rutland County, Vermont, September 13, 1808. His present age is 70 years. He is a man of unusual powers of endurance and seems to be scarcely beyond the prime of life.

 

Burrell, Harvey

            Harvey Burrell was born in Madison, Morris County, New Jersey, December 18, 1809. He came to Illinois in 1854 and located on the farm he now owns of 133 acres, on section 8. He is 69 years old, is still robust and well preserved both mentally and physically.

 

Burrell, Margaret (Schryver)

            Margaret Burrell, wife of Harvey Burrell, was born in Duchess County, New York, January 20, 1812. She is presently 67 years old.

 

Carver, Susan Ann (Jones)

            Susan Carver, widow of Amos Carver, was born in Petersburg, Rensalear County, New York, January 16, 1814. She resides in Plano and is 65 year old.

 

Casler, Robert

            Robert Casler was born in Sandy Hook, Monmouth County, New Jersey, June 21, 1814. He came to Illinois in 1835 and settled in Yorkville where he worked for many years at his trade of blacksmithing. He finally settled on his present farm of 280 acres on section 23 where he now resides in his pleasant and valuable home. Mr. Casler is 65 years old, and a strong man of vigorous constitution.

 

Clark, Levi S.

            Levi S. Clark was born in East Canada, June 2, 1800. He immigrated to Kane County, Illinois in 1854 and to Kendall County in 1865 where he has since resided. He is presently 79 years of age, and is well preserved for his age.

 

Cluphf, John

            John Cluphf was born in Germany, September 23, 1808. He immigrated to New York in 1850 and came to Illinois in 1869, and is a resident of Little Rock village. He is 70 years of age, and somewhat impaired by physical injuries.

 

Cluphf, Maria (VanHousen)

            Maria Cluphf, wife of John Cluphf, was born in Germany March 13, 1813. She is presently 66 years of age.

 

Connelly, Nancy (Stewart)

            Nancy Connelly, widow of Robert Connelly, was born in Waterford, Connecticut, December 31, 1810. She is 69 years of age and resides in Plano.

 

Cook, Amer Brewer

            Amer Brewer Cook was born in Farmingdale, Monmouth County, New Jersey, August 23rd 1805. He came to Illinois in 1838, and located on sections 28 and 29. He has been adding farms to his estate until he now owns nearly 1000 acres of fine farming land. He is one of those men who believes that time is money and never wastes it. He is 73 years of age, and has done as much hard work as any man in the county, yet he is strong and vigorous. Although he now resides in Plano, he gave the farm his entire personal attention and counts himself a good hand at work, a fact that can be attested to by those who work with him. He is one of the wealthiest farmers in the county, and has made his money by the sweat of his brow and the advance of real estate values.

 

Cook, Mary Ann (Page)

            Mary Ann (Page) Cook, wife of Amer B. Cook, was born Piscataway, New Jersey, August 31, 1814. She is 65 years of age.

 

Cox, John, Sr.

            John Cox, Sr. is a native of Montgomery County, New York, and was born September 22, 1806. He immigrated to Illinois in 1844, and for a time farmed on shares. He then bought a 312 acre farm in section 11, where he has lived since. He raised a large family, of all boys except one. He is in his 73rd year. Mr. Cox is still a strong and healthy man.

 

Cox, Mary (Howes)

            Mary Cox, wife of John Cox, was born in Ashfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts March 21, 1811. She is 68 years of age.

 

Crandall, Calista (Hauldridge) [Hodgeman?]

            Calista Crandall, second wife of Jacob Crandall, was born in Hartland, Westchester County, Vermont, October 17, 1801. She is 78 years of age.

 

Crandall, Jacob

            Jacob Crandall was born in Phillipstown, Rensalear County, New York, August 28, 1806. He was one of the earliest settlers in Little Rock Township. He resides in the village of Little Rock. He held the office of Commissioner of Highways for many years in succession.

 

Darnell, Leah (Jones)

            Leah (Jones) Darnell, widow of John, Darnell, Sr., was born in Laurel Springs, North Carolina February 9, 1805. She is 74 years of age and resides on section 17.

 

Eldredge, Margaret (Engle)

            Margaret (Engle) Eldridge, widow of Barnabus E. Eldredge, was born in Sharon, Schoharie County, New York, October 25, 1805. She resides on section 25, and is 73 years of age.

 

Fargusson, William Perry

            William Perry Fargusson was born in Fleming or Mason County, Kentucky, January 15, 1804. He came to Illinois in 1837 and settled on the farm he now owns on section 24. He is in the 75th year of his life, and is a man of large frame and powerful constitution. He is quite well preserved for his years.

 

Faxon, Walter Stiles, Jr.

            Walter Stiles Faxon, Jr. hails from Greenwich, Washington County, New York, and was born September 9, 1812. He came to Illinois in 1843 and drove his stakes on section 24, where he farms 170 acres of excellent land. He is now in his 67th year and is still robust and strong.

 

Flanders, John D.

            John D. Flanders was born in Grafton County, New Hampshire, July 17, 1804. He is 74 years of age and a resident of Plano.

 

Gale, Amy (Cornell)

            Amy (Cornell) Gale, widow of John L. Gale, was born on Long Island, New York, March 19, 1796. She is a resident of Plano, and is 83 years of age.

 

Garber, Elizabeth

            Elizabeth Garber, wife of John Garber, was born in the Canton of Berne, Switzerland, November 19, 1807. She is 71 years of age.

 

Garber, John

            John Garber was born in the Canton of Berne, Switzerland, September 14, 1804. He landed in America at New York in 1855. He resides on section 3.He is 75 years old.

 

Graham, Charles

            Charles Graham was born in County Tyrone, Ireland in November 12, 1811. He immigrated to the United States in 1878 and resides in Plano. He is 67 years of age.

 

Green, Louisa D. (Olmstead)

            Louisa D. (Olmstead) Green, widow of Orrel D. Green, was born in Leydon, Franklin County, Massachusetts, September 14, 1813. She resides in Plano and is 65 years old.

 

Griswold, John J.

            John J. Griswold was born in Amenia, Duchess County, New York, October 28, 1799. He came to Illinois in 1838, and located on the farm where he now resides on section 26 on the north side of the Fox River. Mr. Griswold is 79 years old, and still quite robust and healthy. His mental faculties are holding up well too.

 

Griswold, Rebecca (Seely)

            Rebecca Griswold, second Mrs. John J. Griswold, was born in Canada, March 20, 1799. She is 80 years of age.

 

Hatch, Electa

            Electa Hatch, wife of Isaac Hatch, Sr., was born in Hancock (?), Vermont, May 7, 1804. She is 73 years of age.

 

Hatch, Isaac, Sr.

            Isaac Hatch, Sr. resides in the village of Little Rock. He was born in Saratoga County, New York, June 5, 1796, and has seen the frost of 83 winters. He left New York in 1854 and settled in Michigan before coming to Little Rock village in 1873. Mr. Hatch is a carpenter and millwright and has worked at his trade since coming to Little Rock. He thinks honest toil is the best time killer he ever knew. He is physically very strong and his mental faculties are well preserved.

 

Hiddleson, Hannah B (Wykes)

            Hannah B. (Wykes) Hiddleson, second wife of William Hiddleson, was born in Peterborough, Northampton, England, January 18, 1807. She is 72 years of age.

 

Hiddleson, William

            William Hiddleson began his career on earth in the County of Lycoming, Pennsylvania, April 25, 1808. He immigrated first to Dayton, Ohio, and finally to Illinois in 1836, where he bought the farm he now owns on section 25. He was here during the land claim war. He is now 71 years of age, and still enjoys all of his faculties.

 

Hoiser, Catherine

            Catherine Hoiser, wife of Phillip Hoiser, was born in Germany, December 29, 1810. She is presently 68 years of age.

 

Hoiser, Phillip

            Phillip Hoiser, a resident of Plano, was born in Germany, February 14, 1807. He is 72 years of age, and his physical and mental powers are both diminishing because of his poor health and domestic trouble.

 

Hollister, Sharley “Emeline” (Carver)

            Sharley “Emeline” (Carver) Hollister, wife of John F. Hollister, was born in Hebron, Tolland County, Connecticut, September 13, 1808. She is 70 years of age.

 

Hollister, John Fletcher

            John Fletcher Hollister was born in Glastonbury, Connecticut, September 3, 1811. He is one of the early settlers. A machinist by trade and one of the inventors of improvements on the Marsh Harvester when they were first manufactured. He once owned a portion of the land the town of Plano now stands on and gave the town its name. Mr. Hollister is 68 years of age, and his physical health is somewhat impaired by sickness and injuries received when he was run through a grist mill and broke the machinery. His mental faculties are good.

 

Hubbell, Brewer

           Brewer Hubbell, the oldest man in the township, was born in Washington County, New York, September 27, 1789. He came to Illinois in February 1835 with horses and covered wagon, and took up a land claim where his present home is located, a half a mile west of Little Rock village. When he came he bought a cabin of Bob Matthews then being used by Arnold Dodge as a tavern. The celebrated Indian Chief, Shabbona, stopped with Mr. Hubbell overnight on his way to Washington in company with a Mr. Gates, who bought land of the old Chief. Mr. Hubbell served forty days in the War of 1812 in a Militia Company in a New York Regiment. He is now in his 89thyear.

 

Hunt, Emeline Russell (Hunt)

            Emeline Russell (Hunt) Hunt, widow of Reuben W. Hunt, was born in South Caanan, Connecticut, February 28, 1799. She resides in Plano and is 80 years old.

 

Kerwin, Bridget

            Bridget Kerwin, widow, was born in Waterford County, Ireland, in 1799. She now resides with her son John Kerwin on section 10. She is 80 years old.

 

Jones, Mercy (Young)

            Mercy (Young) Jones, wife of Peleg Jones, was born in Grafton, Rensalear County, New York, October 14, 1807. She is 71 years of age.

 

Jones, Peleg

            Peleg Jones was born in Petersburg, Rensalear County, March 14, 1807. He came to the prairie state in 1840 and located on a claim bought from Sylvester Nicholson situated on section 20. He retired from farming in 1870 and moved to Plano where he now resides. Mr. Jones is 72 years old and not physically strong and sound in health, yet his mental faculties are not impaired.

 

Jones, Phebe

            Phebe Jones, widow of John P. Jones, was born in Petersburg, Rensalear County, New York, November 21, 1814. She resides on section 18 and is 65 years of age.

 

Lincoln, Jedediah H.

            Jedediah H. Lincoln, who resides in Plano, was born in Castleton, Rutland County, Vermont, April 3, 1795. He was a soldier in a New York State Militia Regiment in the War of 1812. He immigrated to Illinois in 1839 and located on a farm in section 20, which he bought from Dr. Kimball Favor. Mr. Lincoln is now in his 84th year. His health is still good, he is able to be about town, and is quite active for a man of his years.

 

Lye, Sarah (Ann)

            Sarah Lye, widow of Aaron Lye, was born in Gloustershire, England, August 2, 1800. She immigrated to America in 1832. She resides on section 2, and is in her 79th year.

 

Madison, Mad

            Mad Madison, who resides in Plano, was born in Norway, September 6, 1813 and is now 65 years old. He is still a strong and healthy man.

 

Marcy, Harriet (Sprioner)

            Harriet (Sprioner) Marcy, wife of Spencer Marcy, was born in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, December 18, 1812. She is 66 years of age.

 

Marcy, Spencer

            Spencer Marcy was born in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, July 17, 1808. He immigrated to Illinois in 1841 and settled on a claim near the Darnell claim. He found the country somewhat sickly, and returned to his native state. In 1854 he immigrated to Illinois again and settled in the town of Somonauk. He moved to Plano from there where he has since lived. Mr. Marcy is now 70 years of age, and still possesses good health.

 

Mighell, Nathan Carr

            Nathan Carr Mighell was born in Wallingford, Vermont, December 10, 1810, to the best of his recollection. He came to Illinois in 1837, where he selected 200 acres of excellent land skirting the west side of the timber in section 11, where he has resided since. He served one term as Justice of the Peace and served one term as County Supervisor. He is now in his 69th year, and is well preserved for his age.

 

Morris, Anna Maria (Walter)

            Anna Maria (Walter) Morris, widow of John E. Morris, was born in Saratoga County, New York, August 19, 1802. She is 78 years of age and resides in Plano.

 

Morris, Samuel

            Samuel Morris was born in Farmingdale, Monmouth County, New Jersey, September 15, 1807. He came to Illinois in October 1864, and has followed the mercantile business since 1869. He is in his 72nd year, and is still strong and robust in health. His mental faculties are also good.     

 

Moss, James. Sr.

            James Moss, Sr. resides in Little Rock village, and is the oldest drummer boy in this Congressional District. He was born in Washington County, New York December 20, 1791. He came to Illinois in the summer of 1854, and bought the Edward Stolp farm and afterward the Mason farm of Joseph Smith located in Squaw Grove Township. When a young man he enlisted as a musician in a New York State Militia Company in the war of 1812, and was assigned the position of drum major. He now receives a pension from the Government as a reward for his services. He is now in his 88th year. Although his physical condition is somewhat impaired, his mental facilities are well preserved.

 

Mulkey, William B.

            William B. Mulkey was born in Ash County, North Carolina, April 15, 1799. He immigrated to Illinois in 1834, settling first near Bloomington at Fink’s Grove. He came to Little Rock in 1839, and built the first house on Little Rock Creek, which was opposite Daniel Darnell’s farm. Subsequently he bought the claim he now lives on. He was elected a Justice of the Peace in 1836, and commissioned by Governor Duncan. In 1837, Thomas Glasspool and Katie Cook called on Esquire Mulkey at midnight to be married. They found him equal to the emergency and were married by the light of the fireplace in his cabin while the temperature was far below zero. Esquire Mulkey is 80 years of age, and still hale and hearty, enjoying all of his mental faculties.

 

Newell, Betsey

            Betsey Newell, wife of Jacob Newell, was born in Essex County, New York, April 28, 1810. She is 69 years of age.

 

Newell, Jacob

            Jacob Newell was born in Chester County, New Hampshire, July 19, 1806, and he resides on section 23. He immigrated to Illinois in 1856. He is 72 years of age, and still healthy and vigorous.

 

Noble, Polly (Oatman)

            Polly (Oatman) Noble, widow of James Noble, was born in Rensalear County, New York, October 26, 1801. She is presently 78 years of age, and resides with Mrs. Phoebe Jones on section 18.

 

Ovitt, Squires “Addison”

            Squires “Addison” Ovitt was born in Fairfield, Vermont, October 2, 1813. He came to Illinois in 1836 and settled on section six, in the northwest corner of the town where he raised a large family. He is now in the 66th year of life, and a strong and healthy man.

 

Parsons, Henry

            Henry Parsons was born in Sharon, Schoharie County, New York, November 4, 1804, to the best of his recollection. He came to Illinois in 1843, and located on a farm in section 13, which he still owns. He was burned out soon after he settled here by a prairie fire. He is 75 years old, and resides in Plano. He is still strong and vigorous in health and quite active.

 

Parsons, Sarah (Engle)

            Sarah (Engle) Parsons, wife of Henry Parsons, was born in Sharon, Schoharie County, New York, November 26, 1811. She is 67 years of age.

 

Pecoy, Isaac

            Isaac Pecoy, who resides in Plano, was born in Woodstock, Ulster County, New York, February 13, 1810. He is 69 years old, strong, active, and very industrious.

 

Pfingsten, Henry William, Sr.

            Henry William Pfingsten, Sr., a resident of Plano, was born in Hesse, Germany, September 17, 1811. He is 67 years of age.

 

Prindle, A. L.

A. L. Prindle was born in Ontario County, New York, February 25, 1808. He is 71 years of age. He immigrated to Batavia, Illinois in 1854, and came to Plano in 1869. He is the father of Mrs. E. H. Gammon.

 

Robbins, Caroline (Hopkins)

            Caroline (Hopkins) Robbins, second wife of Nathaniel I. Robbins, was born in Colchester County, New York, May 20, 1813. She is 66 years of age.     

 

Robins, Nathaniel I.

            Nathaniel I. Robbins was born in Green or Albany County, New York, May 22, 1804. He was among the early pioneers, coming to Illinois in 1835. He settled on a 200 acre farm in section one, which he still owns, although he currently resides in Plano. He is 75 years old, and is still strong and vigorous. He is very well preserved for a man his age.

 

Rowley, George Washington, Sr.

            George Washington Rowley, Sr. was born in Steuben County, New York, February 22, 1808. He settled in Kane County in 1836, and came to this town in 1848, where he located on sections 15 and 16. He is now 71 years old, and is still strong and active. He regularly attends to his business and farm work.

 

Sangster, Hugh

            Hugh Sangster, a resident of Plano, was born at Point Levy, Quebec Province of Lower Canada, June 29. 1809. He is a recent settler in Illinois, and is 69 years of age.

 

Schneider, John Nicholas

            John Nicholas Schneider was born in Hessen, Germany, May 6, 1805. He landed in America on the 4th of July 1831, and was one of the first settlers in Bristol, arriving there in 1832 where he built a small mill. In 1833 he moved to Little Rock Township and located on the farm he now owns. He built a saw mill first and afterwards a grist mill, which is still running. He is presently 74 years of age, has a strong constitution, and is an active man.

 

Schryver, Eliza C.

            Eliza C. Schryver, widow, was born in New Haven County, Connecticut, June 10, 1807. She resides in Plano and is presently 72 years old.

 

Seaton, Daniel C.

            Daniel C. Seaton was born in Jefferson County, New York, November 16, 1804. He resides on section 15. He is now in his 75th year and still possesses a strong and vigorous constitution.

 

Seaton, Josiah W.

            Josiah W. Seaton, a resident of Plano, was born in Northumberland County, Vermont, September 10, 1812. He is 66 years old.

 

Shonts, David Harvey

            David Harvey Shonts was born in Schodack, Rensalear County, New York, November 23, 1808. He immigrated to Kendall County and settled on his farm on section one, part of which he still owns. He built a saw mill on his water power, served five years as Supervisor and Justice of the Peace two terms in Little Rock Township. He is now in his 72 year of age, and still physically and mentally well.

 

Shonts, Elizabeth (Walrath)

            Elizabeth (Walrath) Shonts was born in Oppenheim, Montgomery County, New York, March 25, 1809. She is 70 years of age.

 

Shults, Josiah J.

            Josiah J. Shults was born in Palatine Bridge, Montgomery County, New York, January 8, 1810. He came to Illinois in an early day and has accumulated considerable property. He kept a hotel in Little Rock for many years. His present age is 69. He is an energetic and constant worker, and bears his age well.

 

Skelly, Ellen (Burke)

            Ellen Skelly, wife of Thomas Skelly, was born in County Longford, Northern Ireland, April 8, 1809. Her present age is 70 years.

 

Skelly, Thomas

            Thomas Skelly was born in County Langford, Ireland, November 7, 1800. He landed in America in 1874. He is 78 years of age.

 

Steubing, Mary

            Mary Steubing, widow, was born in Germany, October 16, 1810. She lives in Plano and is 69 years of age.

 

Steward, Ursula (Hollister)

            Ursula (Hollister) Steward, widow of Marcus Steward, was born in Glastonbury, Hartford County, Connecticut, May 22, 1801. She is 78 years of age, and resides in Plano.

 

Strader, David

            David Strader, who resides in Plano, was born in Schoharie County, New York, January 1, 1808. He is 71 year old, hale and hearty.

 

Swift, Sarah “Sally” (Sloan)

            Sarah “Sally” (Sloan) Swift, widow, second wife of Thomas B. Swift, Sr., was born in Otsego County, New York, September 11, 1800. She resides in Plano, and is 78 years old.

 

Thorp, Eliza Ann (Miller)

            Eliza Ann (Miller) Thorp, wife of Leonard Thorp was born in Oneida or Onondaga County, New York in 1806. She is 73 years of age.

 

Thorp, Leonard

            Leonard Thorp was born in Cazenovia, Oneida County, New York, April 13, 1802. He came to Du Page County in 1845, and afterwards came to Bristol, Kendall County and kept the tavern at the old Bradford Johnson stand. From there he moved to Little Rock Township and bought a farm from H. A. Clark, which adjoins the town of Plano where he lived 25 years. He sold his farm to William Raymond Gifford and moved into Plano where he now resides. He is 77 years of age, enjoys very good health, and is well preserved for his advanced age.

 

Turner, Agnes

            Agnes Turner, wife of Elias Turner, was born in Scotland in 1811. She is 68 years of age.

 

Turner, Elias

            Elias Turner of Little Rock village was born in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, May 18, 1804. He came to Illinois in 1850 and settled at Paw Paw, Lee County before moving to Little Rock in 1867. He is a farmer of the eastern type and a rigid economist. Although elderly he is still vigorous and strong. He is very clear headed and enjoys a little sport. Whoever bandies a joke with him can safely calculate that he will repay with interest.

 

Welch, Margaret (Smith)

            Margaret (Smith) Welch, wife of Thomas Welch, Sr., was born in Montgomery County, New York, March 30, 1806. She is 73 years old.

 

Welch, Thomas, Sr.

            Thomas Welch, Sr., was born in County Clare, Ireland, December 25, 1797. He is one of the oldest settlers in the township. He came to Illinois in 1836 and bought a large claim on section 4, which he has lived on since. A portion of this tract is currently owned by his son. He raised a large family, all of whom are adults and still living. Mr. Welch is 83 years old, and is strong and vigorous, both mentally and physically.

 

West, Jesse T.

            Jesse T. West was born in Essex County, New York, May 21, 1802. He came to the Prairie State in 1845 and finally settled in Little Rock Township, on the north line, of section two. He is 77 years of age.

 

Wheeler, Catharine (Shibley)

            Catharine (Shibley) Wheeler, wife of John W. Wheeler, was born in Montgomery County, New York, March 6, 1804. She is 75 years of age.

 

Wiley, William L.

            William L. Wiley was born in Duchess County, New York, September 26, 1801. He immigrated to Illinois in 1846, and located in Big Rock Township. He subsequently moved to Plano where he has since resided. He is in his 78th year, and is not as strong physically as others his age, but retains his mental faculties.

 

 

Postscripts:

            The 101 names above includes all the residents of Little Rock Township, 65 years and older, in July 1879.

 

In July 1882, the list was updated by listing the names of those who had died in the interval between July 1879 and July 1882, and the names of those who had moved from Little Rock Township during the same period.

 

Those who had deceased were: Mary Ann Beck; Dorinda F. Brady; Levi S. Clark; Mary Cox; Margaret Eldridge; Rebecca Griswold; John F. Hollister; Catherine Hoiser; Phillip Hoiser; Brewer Hubbell; Isaac Hatch, Sr.; Bridget Kerwin; Sarah Mulkey; Isaac Pecoy; Eliza C. Schryver; Sally Swift; and William L. Wiley.

 

Those who had moved were: Electa Hatch; William Mulkey; Betsey Newell; Jacob Newell; Hugh Sangster; Daniel C. Seaton; and Josiah W. Seaton,
