Fletcher Misner Blacksmith Shop in Newark

Main Street Newark, Illinois
Twenty by forty foot native limestone blacksmith shop built by Fletcher Misner. According to his obituary, Fletcher Misner came to Newark about 1835. It is unknown how long after his arrival the building pictured above was built. Others have placed the building's date of construction as 1834 or 1835 but I am unaware of their source for this date.
